Another JEE Aspirant Ends Life in Rajasthan’s Kota, the Coaching Hub

Kota: Kota factory claimed the life of another youngster. A 17-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan of his hostel room in Rajasthan’s Kota. His body was discovered on Sunday evening. He was preparing for the JEE-Mains examination.
He was obviously under extreme mental stress. Before taking the drastic step, he was not attending classes at his coaching centre for around a month. He was a year dropper in JEE-Mains, police sources said.

After passing class 12 exams, this boy had not been successful in his JEE-Mains last year.

He was enrolled in a coaching institute in Kota.

The exact reason behind his suicide is not ascertained yet as the deceased did not leave any suicide note.

Kota is the major hub of coaching centres preparing students for engineering and medical entrance examinations. It is also the place where several students suffer immense mental stress that increases suicidal tendencies in some. In 2022 at least 15 students ended their lives by suicide in Kota.
