Bhubaneswar: Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan have launched 5G telephony services in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar today.
Union Ministers launched the 5G services during a programme at SOA Campus-2, Bhubaneswar. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was scheduled to grace the occasion.
Earlier, during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the redevelopment of Bhubaneswar Railway Station Ashwini Vaishnaw said that 5G services will be launched in Odisha before January 26.
It is important to note that in the beginning, the 5G services were only been made available in a few cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chandigarh, Gandhinagar, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Jamnagar, Kolkata, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Delhi, and Mumbai.
Additionally, the next-generation cellular network was also demonstrated in President Draupadi Murmu’s village Pahadpur in the Kusumi block of the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
