At Least 50 Including Sarpanch Injured in Bee Attack in Odisha’s Nuapada Dist

Nuapada: At least 50 people including the sarpanch of a panchayat of Nuapada district were injured after being attacked by bees in the Dohelpada weekly bazaar of the district.

Four of the total were critically injured. They were rushed to various nearby public health facilities.

According to reports, while people were busy buying and selling at the Dohelpada weekly bazaar, they were attacked by a swarm of bees which had their hive on a tree.

Over 50 people got injured in the attack. The critically injured were admitted to hospitals at Khariar, Bangomunda and Sindhekela in the Bolangir district.

Sarpanch of Jamkhunta panchayat under Bangomunda block of Bolangir district Uddhab Behera was also among the injured. He was admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Sindhekela.
