Bike Rider Hit by Ambulance Dies in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A bike rider died when he was hit by an ambulance on NH-26 at Fasad square in Sambalpur on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Hemanta Pradhan of Lohisingha. According to reports, he was on his way to his home when he was run over by a speeding ambulance that hit him from behind. He died on the spot.

The driver of the ambulance escaped from the spot after causing the accident.

Locals staged a road blockade at the spot of the accident demanding compensation for the family of the victim.

On being informed about the accident, the police have reached the spot for investigation.
