Birthday Party Mass Shooting in US; At least 4 Dead, 28 Injured

At least four persons died and 28 others were injured in a mass shooting at a birthday party in the US state of Alabama. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said on Sunday that this indiscriminate firing happened in the small rural town of Dadeville late Saturday night.

Police has not released any details about the suspect behind the shoot-out or the motive. One of the victims killed was Philstavious Dowdell — a stellar high school football player and the brother of the birthday girl.

This Alabama shooting happened on the same day on which the firing happened in a crowded park in Louisville, Kentucky. Two people were killed and four others were wounded.

Across the US, there have been at least 163 mass shootings in the first 15 weeks of 2023. President Joe Biden renewed his calls for tougher gun laws after the incident.
