Body of Woman Postmaster Fished Out from Kolab Dam in Koraput

Koraput: The body of a woman postmaster was fished out from the Kolab Dam of Odisha’s Koraput district.

The deceased was identified as Priyanka Praharaj, a postmaster of the Tikarpada panchayat of the district.

According to reports, Priyanka left her phone at her home and went out saying she will return soon. As she did not return home, her mother with help of villagers searched for her. While searching, the deceased’s footwear was seen lying near the Kolab dam.

Suspecting Priyanka drowned in the dam, villagers searched for the woman in the water. They fished out her body and informed the police.

On being informed, Nandapur police reached the spot, sent the body for autopsy and initiated an investigation into the matter.

The reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained. As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that Priyanka has committed suicide. Further probing of the case is underway.
