Bus Hits Trailer As Driver Dozes Off in Cuttack Dist; 10 Injured

Cuttack: At least 10 passengers were seriously injured when a private bus crashed to the backside of a trailer on NH-16 near Bhanapur in Cuttack on Saturday morning.

The bus was on its way to Bhubaneswar from Sundargarh. It is alleged that the driver of the bus dozed off at the wheel and the vehicle hit the trailer from rear, allegedly as its driver dozed off at the wheels.

Apart from the passengers of the bus, its driver was also seriously injured in the accident.

Local police and fire officials rescued the injured and admitted them to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

The intensity of the mishap was so high that the front portion of the bus was completely damaged. Police have seized the bus and launched an investigation.
