Business 20 Inception Meeting Kicks Off in Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The Business 20 or B20 inception meeting began in Gandhinagar, Gujarat today, January 23.

Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, India’s Sherpa for the G20, Amitabh Kant, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran, and a host of national and international business leaders attend the inaugural meeting.

The B20 inception meeting is taking place under the theme of ‘RAISE,’ which stands for Responsible, Accelerated, Innovative, Sustainable, and Equitable Businesses. Our correspondent reports that it will discuss the priorities of the industries which will pay the way for the policy recommendations in the year ahead.

The B 20 meeting is the first among the 15 engagements that Gujarat is hosting as part of India’s G 20 presidency. Nearly 600 business leaders including 250 international delegates are participating in the meeting.

The inaugural session is followed by several plenary sessions where business leaders from the G 20 nations will deliberate upon global issues such as climate action, financial inclusion, and global digital cooperation among others.

There will be a dedicated plenary session on Opportunities in Gujarat which will provide a glimpse of business and investment opportunities in Gujarat. Industries Commissioner Rahul Gupta said as 2023 is declared the International Year of Millets by the United Nations, Gujarat will serve millet items during meals to the delegates during the meetings.
