Case Against Suspended BJP MLA for Contentious ‘Hindu Rashtra’ Remarks on Ram Navami in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A case was registered against suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh by police for his controversial remarks during a Ram Navami rally in Hyderabad. He was booked by Afzalgunj Police under Sections 153-A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

This BJP leader’s ‘hate speech’ was recorded on a video camera by a police constable.

Raja Singh’s Ram Navami rally reached SA Bazar at 9 pm. He delivered the speech in Hindi from the top of an elephant. He proclaimed that If India becomes a Hindu Rashtra, only believers of the ‘we two, our two’ policy will get voting rights and the ones who follow the ‘we five, our 50’ policy will not be allowed to vote.

As reported by India Today, this BJP leader said, “Our saints have started picturing what the Hindu Rashtra will look like. Its constitution is also being drafted. The Hindu Rashtra’s capital will not be Delhi. Saints are choosing between Kashi, Mathura and Ayodhya.”

He said the Hindu Rashtra will be tax-free for farmers and there will be no cow slaughter there and conversion.

In January this year, this suspended MLA was booked by the Mumbai Police for delivering an alleged hate speech.
