Cash, Articles Worth Rs 254 Cr Seized in Odisha During Election Campaign

Bhubaneswar: Cash and articles worth Rs 254 crore have been seized so far from different parts of Odisha places in Odisha, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal said on Saturday.

The seizures include cash worth Rs 17.18 crore, 31 lakh litres of liquor, drugs worth Rs 73 crore and gold ornaments worth Rs 14 crore.

The highest cash amounting Rs 1.26 crore and the highest 8 lakh litre of liquor have been seized from the Bargarh district. Cash worth Rs 36 lakh and Rs 13 lakh were seized from Kandhamal and Aska parliamentary constituencies respectively.
