Chaitra Navratri Day 6: Worship of Mata Katyayani to Remove All Sorrows

According to the scriptures, Mata Katyayani is worshipped on the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri. Mata Katyayani is also known as Manas Putri of Lord Brahma. Mata Katyayani has the most beautiful form and is also known as Chhath Maiya in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand. According to the beliefs, on the sixth day of Navratri, devotees get special benefits from the rituals of Mata Katyayani. Know the nature of Mata Katyayani, worship method, and worship mantra-

The form of the mother is as bright as gold and she has four arms. The goddess holds a sword, lotus, Abhaya mudra, and boar mudra in each arm. Mata Katyayani likes the red colour the most.

According to legends, Mata Katyayani was born as a daughter after Maharishi Katyayana’s penance. Maa Durga in her form had killed Mahishasura and freed the gods and human beings from his terror.

On the sixth day of the Navratri festival, first after bathing and meditating, worship the Kalash and after that worship Maa Durga and Mata Katyayani. Before starting the puja, remember the goddess and take a resolution with flowers in hand. After that offer those flowers to the goddess.

Then offer kumkum, akshat, flowers, etc., and sixteen makeup to the mother. After that, offer their favourite blog made of honey, sweets, etc. Then offer water and do the goddess’s aarti by lighting a ghee lamp. Do not forget to recite Durga Chalisa and Durga Saptashati before the aarti.

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Katyayani Rupene Sanstha|
