Class VI Girl Dies in Mayurbhanj Kasturba Gandhi School: HM Suspended, Hostel Warden Dismissed

Baripada: Following the death of a Class-VI girl in the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in the Mayurbhanj district, the hostel Warden of was dismissed and the Headmistress was put under suspension on Sunday.

The district administration resorted to this action as the parents of the deceased student alleged of lapses in adequate treatment to the girl. The locals blocked the road at Khunta keeping the body of the minor girl on the road.

The class VI student residing in the hostel of the school fell sick on Saturday night. She was admitted to Khunta hospital where the doctor declared her dead.

The concerned District Education Officer (DEO) recommended the suspension of the headmistress Gayatri Sethi and dismissed hostel Warden Minati Mohapatra, on the charges of dereliction of duty.
