Couple in Extramarital Relation Attempt Suicide in Kalahandi, Man Dies, His Lover Critical

Kalahandi: A couple in an illicit relationship attempted suicide by consuming poison at Palaspani village in Dharamgarh block of Odisha’s Kalahandi district.

The man, who is a married man died. His paramour, who is also a married woman, is reportedly in critical condition. Both were having an extra-marital affair.

The deceased identified as Tulasiram Naik was having an illicit relationship with the woman, who happens to be his sister-in-law. Both of them developed a relationship several years ago but gt married to different spouses.

According to reports, their families called up a meeting to address the situation. During the meeting, the couple involved in the extra-marital affair excused themselves citing some reason and consumed poison.

They were immediately admitted to the Dharmagarh Sub-Divisional Hospital (SDH). Later they were shifted to the to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Bhawanipatna, where

Tulasiram passed away.

Police have seized the body for postmortem. Further investigations into the incident are underway.
