COVID Cases Rise in 6 States; Centre Advises for Stress on Testing, Tracking, Treating & Vaccination

New Delhi: COVID positive cases are on the rise in six states, namely Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. The Centre has advised these States to focus on controlling the sudden increase in the COVID-19 viral infection.

The Union Health Secretary has written to these states advising asking them to put stress on testing, treating, tracking, and vaccination.

More than 700 COVID cases were recorded in a day in India after a gap of over four months. The country had recorded 734 cases on November 12 last year.

The letter advised these 6 states to examine the situation of COVID infection at the district and sub-division micro level.

Active cases now comprise 0.01 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID recovery rate has been recorded at 98.80 per cent, according to the health ministry website.
