DAMaN’s Hindi Avatar to Clash with Pathaan after its Pan-India Release Today

Bhubaneswar: Hindi dubbed version of the path-breaking Odia film ‘DAMaN’ had its pan-India release on Friday (February 3). It is to clash with Shah Rukh Khan starrer blockbuster ‘Pathaan’.

This film based on Odisha’s malaria elimination drive was released on November 4, 2022. The Hindi trailer of the film was unveiled by actor and filmmaker Ajay Devgan in December 2022. Advance booking for the film opened on February 1.

The Hindi version of ‘DAMaN’ is being released on limited screens across the country. According to Bollywood Crazies, it will be open for viewers on around 8 screens in Mumbai, 13 shows on 12 screens in Delhi, eight screens in Bengaluru, 4 in Hyderabad, 2 screens in Ahmedabad, 4 screens in Lucknow, and as many in Indore and Surat and one screen in Chennai.

This movie is written and directed by Vishal Mourya and Debi Prasad Lenka, It tells the story of a young doctor posted in a remote tribal pocket of Odisha’s Malkangiri district. Based on true life events, this movie showcases the process through which a young doctor eradicates malaria in the 151 villages under Janabai PHC.

‘DaMan’ has already received praise from critics and general viewers. It received 9.7 IMDB rating.
