Due to heavy rain, the water level of Baitarani and Salandi rivers in Bhadrak has increased

Bhadrak: Low-pressure rain is increasing the problem. While the water is stagnating in the wetlands, the Baitarani River in Bhadrak is now slowly increasing. Due to the rising water level in Salandi Reservoir, water is being withdrawn from Hadgarh Dam. However, due to heavy rains in the upper reaches, the Baitarani River is also flooding.

At Akhuapada, the danger level is 17.83 meters while the water level is still flowing at 17.73 meters. Similarly, the water level in the Salandi River is also increasing. The water level in the Hadgarh Dam of the Salandi River is 78 meters. Vidyadharpur Canal Division has informed that the Hadgarh Dam Gate of Salandi River has been opened due to continuous rains.

On the other hand, heavy rains have created problems in some wards of Bhadrak city. In some parts of the Charampa area, there is water on the roads, causing problems for traffic. People are suffering because of rainwater in urban areas.
