ED to Question Delhi’s Ex-Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in Tihar Jail

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will question former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in Tihar Jail as part of its money laundering probe into alleged irregularities in the Delhi excise policy case.

A special court in Delhi on Monday sent Delhi’s former deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia to 14 days of judicial custody in the liquor policy case. Now Sisodia will be lodged in Tihar jail till March 20.

He was produced before the Rouse Avenue Court in Delhi. The court sent him to judicial custody till March 20.

Following his arrest, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader has been in the CBI’s custody for a week now. He was arrested by the CBI in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.

“I am being asked the same questions from morning to evening all day. It is mental harassment for me,” Sisodia had said soon after his CBI remand was extended two days back. He was produced before special judge MK Nagpal on Monday on the expiry of his 7-day custodial interrogation allowed by the court earlier.

Earlier today, ED arrested Hyderabad-based businessman Arun Ramchandran Pillai in connection with the alleged scam in the Delhi liquor policy on Tuesday. Arun Pillai is named as an accused in the case. He was allegedly working for K Kavitha, the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
