Elderly Man Plucking Flowers Crushed By Speeding Vehicle On NH 55 In Angul

Angul: An elderly man lost his life in a hit and run incident on Tuesday morning at Karada Gadiya Street under Sadar Police station limits in Angul district.

The deceased identified as Kashinath Tung (65) of Kardagadia village was run over by a unidentified vehicle, while he was travelling on his bicycle to pluck flowers for his morning worship. He died on the spot.

Following the accident, locals blocked the National Highway 55 at the spot demanding the arrest of the killer driver and compensation to the victim’s family. A large number of vehicles were stranded on both sides.

The road block was removed when local police officials reached the spot and pacified the angry locals with the promise of proper compensation to the family of the deceased.
