Female Elephant Suspected Electrocuted to Death in Sambalpur Dist

Sambalpur: The body of a female elephant was discovered in the Jankarbahali-Baduapali area under Sambalpur’s Sadar Forest Range on Thursday.

Although the exact cause of the pachyderm’s death has not been ascertained, yet is suspected that the elephant may have died due to electrocution.

Forest department officials have reached the spot to seize the body and started an investigation.

An Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) is investigating this case of elephant death. The body of the elephant will undergo autopsy to find out the reason behind its death.
