Female Polling Officers to Manage 1041 Booths During 2nd Phase Voting in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: During the second phase of polling in Odisha on May 20, out of the 9,162 polling stations, 1,041 booths will be managed by women pooling officers, informed Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal said on Saturday.

Twenty-five booths will be headed by PwD employees. A total of 1,541 booths in this phase of polling have been named as model polling stations.

As many as 265 candidates, including 40 women, are contesting from the 35 Assembly constituencies where voting will be held on May 20. A total of 40 candidates are in fray in the five Lok Sabha seats – Bargarh, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Aska and Bolangir.

In the second phase, as many as 79, 69, 887 voters have been enrolled to cast votes in Odisha. They include 39,45,000 female voters, 40,33,992 male and 851 transgender voters.
