From Carrying Cylinders to Smashing 5 Successive Sixes: Rinku Reveals Life Journey

Mumbai: Kolkata Knight Riders batter Rinku Singh earned the spotlight after hitting five consecutive sixes against Gujarat Titans in an IPL 2023 match. He recently revealed his journey from carrying cylinders on a bike to smashing five successive sixes.

Rinku revealed that it was a difficult journey for him since his father did not like cricket. Before starting his journey as a cricketer, Rinku used to carry cylinders with his brother on their bike.

“It has been a difficult journey for me since my father did not like cricket. My father asked me to work with him. We used to carry cylinders on a bike with my brother. My mother also said that since our father is not supporting us, then we should just start working with him,” said Rinku.

He also revealed that he used to sweep the floor of a coaching center as well, but after that, he turned all his focus to playing cricket.

“My brother used to work in a coaching center, so he took us there where we were told that we should wipe the floors in the morning. I ran away from there and since then I have focused on cricket,” he added.

“I have always liked cricket since I used to play with my brothers when I was young. There was an inter-school event, and I started playing from there,” Rinku stated.

The whole nation is appreciating Rinku’s talent. Rinku annihilated the defending champions GT when KKR needed 28 off the final five balls. Rinku smashed and hammered five consecutive sixes to help KKR beat GT by three wickets.
