Mumbai: Harshad Patankar, a gangster of Maharashtra’s Nasik, who was recently released from jail was sent back to prison when the video of his celebration rally for release went viral on social media, reported NDTV.
Patankar was jailed under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA).
He was released from jail on July 23. To celebrate his release, his supporters took out a car in which around 15 two-wheelers also took part.
In the viral videos of the rally, Patankar is seen waving at his supporters while coming out of the car’s sunroof.
His supporters shared the reels of the rally on social media with the caption “comeback”.
When the reels went viral, it prompted police action. Patankar was arrested again along with six of his associates for holding an unauthorised rally and creating chaos.
According to reports, Patnakar faces several police cases including attempted murder, theft and violence.
