Govt to Provide Employment to Over 50 lakh Farmers

New Delhi: Minister of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying Sanjeev Balyan has said that the Government will provide employment to more than 50 lakh farmers, directly and indirectly.

Interacting with media in New Delhi today, he gave a detailed account of the steps taken by his Ministry to make the youth self-employed and self-dependent.

He said, under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, cow, buffalo, pig, chicken, and goat breeding farms and silage-making units can obtain subsidies of four crores, one crore, 60 lakh, and 50 lakh rupees.

The Minister said, a 50 per cent subsidy will be given by the Centre and apart from this, a three per cent interest subvention can also be taken under the Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund, scheme on the loan amount.

He said arrangements are being made to open more than four thousand 332 mobile veterinary units for the treatment of animals. Under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, the rearing of native cow breeds is being encouraged, he said.

Out of total 90,598 jobs, 16000 youth have got employment under the “Maitri” Yojana. The online facility has also been made available so that the youth of the country can get the benefit of schemes of the  Ministry.
