Home Minister Amit Shah Condoles Demise of Actor Satish Kaushik

New Delhi: Home Minister Amit Shah has expressed grief over the demise of actor, director, and writer Satish Kaushik.

In a tweet, Mr Shah said, Mr Kaushik’s contribution to Indian cinema, artistic creations, and performances will always be remembered. He paid his condolences to the bereaved family.

Popular comedian and actor-director Satish Kaushik passed at the age of 66 years.

Anupam Kher expressing his condolences tweeted, “I know that death is the ultimate truth of this world! But I had not thought even in my wildest dreams that I would write this thing about my best friend someday. Such a sudden full stop to a friendship of 45 years!! Life will NEVER be the same without you SATISH!”

Actress Kangana Ranaut also expressed her condolences over the demise of the actor. She tweeted, “Woke up to this horrible news. He was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director Satish Kaushik ji personally was also a very kind and genuine man. I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti.”

Satish Kaushik is known for his roles as Calendar in the 1987 superhero film, Mr India, as Pappu Pager in Deewana Mastana (1997), and as Chanu Ahmed in the British film Brick Lane (2007). He also won the Filmfare Best Comedian Award in 1990 for Ram Lakhan and in 1997 for Saajan Chale Sasural.
