Husband of Block Chairman Forges BDO’s Signature to Cheat Rs 15 Lakh in Khordha Dist

Khordha: Kishore Behera, a contractor, who is the husband of the Chilika block chairperson, allegedly withdrew a security deposit of Rs 15 lakh by forging the concerned BDO’s signature. Tangi police in Khordha district have registered a case under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against him.

Kishore Behera is a former Zilla Parishad member, who is also the husband of the Chilika block chairperson. He is a contractor by profession. For some construction work contract he had pledged Rs 15 lakh towards security money. He was to get back the deposit money after the completion of the work.

He allegedly withdrew the deposit money before the completion of his work by forging a government letter and the signature of the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Tangi.

Tangi BDO lodged a complaint at Tangi police station regarding it. On the basis of the complaint, a case was registered under Section 420 of the IPC.
