IMD Issues Red Warning for 12 Districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning for thunderstorms and lightning in 12 districts of Odisha today.

Moderate to intense thunderstorms with lightning, gusty surface wind speed of 50-60 kmph and moderate to intense rain are likely to continue in some parts of districts of Khordha, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Kandhamal, Boudh, Cuttack, Anugul, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, and Kendrapada, during next 3 hours.

As per the IMD forecast on Sunday, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Deogarh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal.

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the Coastal districts of Odisha like Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sundergarh and at a few places over the rest districts of the State informed IMD.
