India to Host Meeting of National Security Advisers from Member Countries of SCO

New Delhi: India will host a meeting of the National Security Advisers (NSAs) of member countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in New Delhi today.

The meeting will be chaired by NSA Ajit Kumar Doval and will be attended in person by several high-level delegates from Central Asian Countries. Pakistan and China are also likely to attend the SCO-NSA meeting virtually.

Today’s meeting is expected to take up the developments in Afghanistan and also help in advancing consultations on Russia’s plans for the Eurasian economic bloc. The meeting is also expected to look at counter-terrorism, radicalisation and extremism, transnational crimes, such as the smuggling of narcotics, weapons, and global security issues.

Currently, the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation comprises China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
