Inspection of Ratnabhandar inside the Srimandir: ASI wrote a letter to the temple administration and asked for permission

ASI has written a letter to the temple administration seeking permission to inspect the Ratna bhandar inside the temple. It seems that the Archaeological Survey of India has written a letter to the administration of the temple on the 8th of this month and has asked for permission to inspect the inner Ratna bhandar.

The letter mentions that all arrangements should be made to open the inner Ratna bhandar as it is in a dangerous condition. As the condition of the outer Ratna bhandar has been checked earlier, now this letter has been sent for checking the inside of Ratna bhandar.

The archeology department has informed that further steps will be taken after the response of the temple administration. Earlier, there was an attempt to open the inner Ratna bhandar and study its condition. In 2018, a 17-member team attempted to open the inner Ratna bhandar on April 4, according to the order of the High Court. But they came back without opening the Ratna Bhandara. At that time the incident of the key being lost came to light.

Since then, the state government has set up commission after commission over the issue of missing the key to the museum’s treasure. No clear answer has been found regarding the key to the temple’s jewels related to Odia’s emotions. According to the RTI data, since 1970, the key of Ratna bhandar is not with the district administration. Therefore, doubts have appeared in the minds of crores of Odisha about the safety of the inner gems and Thakur’s gold ornaments.
