Inspired by Ranjeeta’s Paid Period leave campaign, two more Odisha companies initiate the same

Bhubaneswar: The paid period Leave campaign initiated by Odisha girl Ranjita Priyadarshini is gaining continuous support. Inspired by the campaign, two more companies from Odisha have announced t give one day of paid leave to their female workers during menstruation. Among the two companies, one is associated with the hotel and medicine wholesale business and the second is the textile business.

Ranjeeta informed the names of the companies which have given a day off on those days of the month to women. The companies are Hotel Siba Group and Sakshi Handloom in the Sambalpur district of Odisha. Both companies announced this on Tuesday. Hence, both companies are now India’s to take such steps in their respective sector.

Aanchal Sheela, director of Siba Group, said that their company is active in the business of hotel and wholesale medicine in the group, which has about 20 female employees. Everyone will be given one day of paid leave during menstruation.

Pradeep Sahani, the owner of Sakshi Handloom, told that his group is working in various places like Odisha, Mumbai, and Delhi. Sambalpuri clothes made here are also exported to foreign countries including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and France. There is a lot of craze for Sambalpur clothes in Bollywood too. Period Paid Leave campaign is a commendable initiative. It will be implemented in all its workplaces.

Not just in Odisha, rather in other parts of the country, this initiative by Ranjeeta Priyandarshini has got appreciation. She told that working women have to face a lot of difficulties during menstruation. In such a situation, if they get one day of paid leave, then it is convenient for them. Any legal provision can be made in this regard under Articles 15(3) and 42 of the Constitution.
