Jewellery Worth Rs 1 Crore Left in Cab Traced Out in 4 Hours

New Delhi: Over Rs 1 crore worth valuables and jewellery forgotten in a cab by an NRI from Britain could be traced out by Delhi police in four hours.

This British NRI Nikhilesh Kumar Sinha along with his family arrived in India on Wednesday to attend his daughter’s wedding. After reaching their hotel, they found one of their bags containing the valuables was missing. They suspected that the bag was left in the cab they took to reach the hotel.

They contacted the local police station at around 4 PM. The NRI family provided the number of the cab as well as the phone number of its driver. After a search of four hours, the cab driver was located in the Lal Kuan area of Ghaziabad. The bag was recovered from the boot of the vehicle with all the belongings safe in it.

The driver told the police that he was unaware of the bag left behind in the boot of his cab. All the jewellery, which is worth about Rs 1 crore was found safe in the bag, which was handed over to its NRI owner.
