Jindal Swayamsamparna Nari Program: Financial assistance to 508 girls by JSPL Foundation

Bhubaneswar: JSPL Foundation, the CSR arm of Jindal Steel and Power (JSP), has awarded scholarships to 508 deserving girls from economically weaker sections of Odisha and Chhattisgarh under its Jindal Swayansamparna Nari program. On August 9, JSPL Foundation Chairperson Mrs. Shalu Jindal inaugurated the program and distributed scholarship letters to the selected girls.

Addressing the students and their guardians present, Mrs. Jindal said, “Jindal Swayangsamparna Nari program is another effort of ours to help women and young women from socially and economically weaker sections become self-reliant. Many talented young women and girls are deprived of their skills development or higher education due to a lack of funds. I hope this program will help them fulfill their dreams and empower them.

Kumari Yashwini Jindal, a JSPL Foundation Advisory Council member participating in the program expressed her happiness and appreciated the efforts of the JSPL Foundation for helping girls from economically weaker sections realize their dream of education.

Under this program, 508 girls were selected through a selection process that started in March 2022. Selected students are pursuing courses of their choice in various institutes. These include various vocational training such as beautician courses, dress designing, and computer courses, as well as professional and higher education courses such as engineering, management, and law. The aid amount will be paid directly to the institution where the students are studying.

Mr. Prashant Kumar Hota, President and Group Head (CSR & Education), JSP, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of the Jindal Swayansamparna Nari program. Angul Location Head & Managing Director, JSP Mr. Halaiswar Jha, Managing Director & Head, Jindal Power Tamnar Mr. Prithi Nath Singh, Badbil Unit Head, JSP Mr. Brij Bhadadra, OP Jindal University Chancellor Dr. R.D. Patidar, JSP’s President of Parks Mr. Sanjeev Chauhan and other senior officials. He was present on the occasion and inspired the students. The selected students thanked JSPL Foundation for this support. Mr. Nilesh Shah, Head (Steel Structures Division), Capital, JSP proposed the vote of thanks.
