J&K DG Killed during Amit Shah’s visit: Choked with bottle

New Delhi: Jammu and Kashmir DG Hemant Lohia have been strangled to death during the 3-day visit of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to Kashmir. He was rescued in a bloody condition late on Monday evening. Hemant was already dead when he was rescued from the house.

During the visit of the Home Minister, there has been a disturbance in the security agencies due to the killing of a senior police officer. Hemant’s servant is missing after the murder. For this, it is suspected that the servant has done this. The police are searching for him.

Hemant was appointed as the DG of Jammu and Kashmir 2 months ago. Hemant, a 1992 batch IPS officer, was a resident of Assam. On the current day, the renovation of his house in Jammu was going on. Therefore, he lived with his family in the house of his friend Rajeev, who lives in Jammu. But the bloody body of Hemant was recovered from his house on Monday. He had injuries on his neck and other parts of the body. While the police do not understand anything about this, the servant of the house is still missing. For this, the servant is suspected of murder.

According to reports, the accused used a bottle to strangle and cut Hemant’s throat. There are also burn marks on his body. It appears that after killing Hemant, the accused tried to set him on fire. Police are investigating for more details.
