New Delhi: Ten 10 police vehicles including PCR vans and night patrolling units were used to trace the car that hit Anjali, and dragged her for 12 Km from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala. As it is alleged that police were not fast enough to track down the accident-causing car, Delhi police has decided to have an inquiry to find out if there was any laxity on their part in handling the case.
The inquiry will also be looking if all standard operating procedures were followed by police and media reports about the accident will also be analysed as part of the ongoing inquiry into the matter, the officer said.
According to sources, dense fog delayed the movement of PCR vans from Kanjhawala, Hoshambi border, and Aman Vihar area which were chasing the Baleno car that caused the accident. According to police sources, the car preferred to travel through narrow lanes instead of the main road to dodge the police.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has sought a detailed report of the incident from the Delhi Police.
A 20-year-old woman died in the wee hours of Sunday after she was dragged for around 12 kilometers from Sultanpuri to Kanjhawala in Delhi after the scooter she was riding collided with a car.
