The suspected killer of two Swedish football fans in Belgium’s Brussels was shot dead by police in a café on Tuesday. The slain man was identified as a 45-year-old Tunisian, Belgian media said.
The man was shot in the chest and died in the hospital. There was no official confirmation of his death.
Belgian Interior Minister Annelies Verlinden said earlier the wounded man was suspected of being the gunman.
A Belgian federal prosecutor said there was no evidence that the attacker had any link to the recent renewed conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants.
Two Swedish nationals were shot dead and a third one was wounded in central Brussels on Monday night. The alleged assailant claimed to be a member of the Islamic State in a video posted online.
