Man Dies After Consuming Viagra Pills Along with Liquor in Nagpur

Nagpur: A 41-year-old man died in Nagpur died after ingesting two Viagra pills while drinking alcohol, reported news.au.com.

This incident was cited in a study published in the Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine. This man staying in a hotel with his girlfriend had gulped two 50mg tablets of sildenafil sold under the brand name Viagra. He had also consumed alcohol at that time.

This man had no major medical or surgical history and was also consuming alcohol at the time. On the next morning, he developed extreme uneasiness and was rushed to the hospital. But he was declared dead on arrival.

According to the study, the man died of a cerebrovascular haemorrhage. It occurs when oxygen delivery to the brain gets reduced.

In post-mortem scans, the doctors found a 300g mass of clotted blood. They concluded that a mixture of alcohol and sildenafil medication, as well as pre-existing high-blood pressure, led to his death.

The authors of the study stated that this is a rare case. People should be warned about the risks of taking erectile dysfunction medication without medical advice.
