Man Gets 20 Yrs Jail for Raping Minor Girl in Balasore District

Balasore: A special Pocso Court sentenced a man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl in Simulia area of Balasore district.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on the convict identified as Gangadhar Jena. In case of non-payment, he will have to undergo additional two years of imprisonment.

The court took into account the statements from 14 witnesses and 23 documents to pass the verdict.

According to reports, the convict raped the minor girl in a forest on January 12, 2023, in Simulia police station area of Balasore district.
