Maoist Camp Busted In Malkangiri, Arms & Other Articles Seized

Malkangiri: Security forces on  Thursday busted a Maoist hideout in Malkangiri district. A huge cache of arms, explosives, IEDs and other incriminating articles were seized from this secret camp of Maoists.

The seized articles included two country-made guns, a dozen 12 Bore ammunitions, one SLR ammunition (damaged), two HE Grenades, one 4 Kg IED, one 2 Kg IED, one Tiffin IED (damaged), 55 Gelatine sticks, two Kg explosive, crackers, 10 mtr codex wire, one IED mechanism, camping materials, etc.

It is suspected that the seized explosives along with other articles belong to the Maoist cadres of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC) of the banned CPI (Maoist) organization. They were intended to be used against innocent civilians and security forces.

Official sources said the combing operation is ongoing in the area.
