Meta to Fire 6000 More Employees Starting from Next Week

Meta is all set to start the latest round of layoffs. The company’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, has informed it to the employees and others during a company-wide meeting, reported the Vox.

“The third wave is going to happen next week. That affects everybody in the biz teams, including in my orgs,” Clegg said.

Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that the next round of layoffs will be held in May 2023. According to sources, as many as 6,000 employees will be fired from Meta starting next week.

Meta fired 11,000 workers in November and announced 10,000 job cuts in March 2023.

In an email, the tech giant also stated that it over-hired in the past few years because of business needs. But, now that Meta is witnessing slow growth and struggling in terms of revenue. Hence, Meta is cutting jobs.
