Mortal Remains of Martyr Debashish Biswal Consigned to Flames With State Honour

Puri: The mortal remains of Matyred Debashish Biswal were consigned to flames today with state honor.

Earlier, the body of martyred Odia jawan Debashish Biswal, who lost his life in the Poonch terrorist attack, reached Odisha. The state Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal offered floral tribute and last respect to martyr Jawan at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar, Governor paid his last respect to the martyr.

The martyr’s wife also paid tribute to the mortal remains at the airport. He was given the guard of honour at the airport. Then the body was taken to his native village Khandayatsahi in the Sakhigopal area of the Puri district. He will be cremated there with full state honours.

A large crowd gathered at the airport to pay last respects to the martyr. Debashish was among five Indian Army soldiers who were martyred when the army vehicle in which they were traveling faced the terrorist attack in the Poonch district on April 20. He is survived by his wife Sushree Sangeeta and a seven-month-old daughter.
