Naba Das’ Assassination Was An ‘Arranged Murder’; Alleges Bijoy Mohapatra

Bhubaneswar: Even though weeks have passed since the gruesome killing of Health Minister Naba Das, the Crime Branch is yet to make any headway in the case.
However, the allegations by the Opposition BJP have further heated up the political landscape.

Adding fuel to the ongoing political slugfest, senior BJP leader Bijoy Mohapatra termed Naba Das’ killing as an ‘arranged murder’.

Launching a scathing attack on the Odisha government, Mohapatra said, “Such a change in the mindset of a man in uniform leading him to attack and kill a state minister raises questions. The probe is confined to Gopal Das only.

“Accused Gopal Das has met Naba many times earlier. Then the question arises why didn’t Gopal kill him earlier? Therefore, the motive behind the murder is yet to be established even as 15 days have passed since the crime,” he said.

“Naba’s business rivals and friends have not been quizzed yet. Gopal was undertaking orthopaedic treatment. There is doubt about Gopal’s unstable condition. The motive behind the murder is yet to be revealed even after 15 days. It seems as if Gopal himself is investigating him,” he added.

Meanwhile, no comments have been received from the ruling party in this regard.

Similarly, BJP leader Pradip Purohit also slammed the ruling BJD over the Naba Das murder case.

“There is a huge conspiracy behind the murder. I have also told earlier that the conspiracy has been made by others who want to capture power after Naveen Patnaik,” said Purohit.

Purohit also alleged that Crime Branch officials are acting as shields for the persons who are involved in the conspiracy.
