Odia Mountaineer from Nayagarh Climbs Europe’s Highest Mountain

Bhubaneswar: Odia mountaineer Soubhagya Rath from Nayagarh district climbed Europe’s highest peak Mt Elbrus on Sunday.

He reached the peak of the top of the 5,642 meters high Mt Elbrus at 11.10 am on Sunday and hoisted the Indian National

National flag. Mt Elbrus is located in Russia.

Earlier another Odia mountaineer Sidharth Routray, had reached the peak of Mt Elbrus on May 3.

Rath was accompanied by another Indian and four Russian mountaineers, along with three trainers.

Mountaineer Rath thanked Lord Jagannath for blessing him with the courage to climb Mt Elbrus. He also expressed his gratitude to Nayagarh Vikash Manch and Akashvani for their support.
