Odisha Stands 1st in Jackfruit Production in India

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is ranked number one in jackfruit production in India. Lemon production in the state ranks sixth, mango ranks eighth informed Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain in the Odisha Assembly today.

The Minister said that the state produces 98,55,770 MT of vegetables and 25,31,534 MT of fruits.

“In fruit production, Odisha respectively ranks first in jackfruit, sixth in lemon, eighth in mango, and in vegetable production ranks first in sweet potato, third in paddy straw mushroom, second in brinjal and cabbage, sixth in cauliflower, fifth in ladies’ finger (okra), tomato and watermelon and eighth in bottle gourd,” stated Swain.

State Agriculture Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain also shared the details of the national production of the aforementioned items and the percentage produced in the State.
