Pakistan’s Babar Azam Surpasses Virat Kohli to Become Top T20 Run-Scorer, While His Team Loses to USA

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam broke the record of India’s Virat Kohli to become the highest run-getter in T20 format on Thursday as his team was beaten by minnows USA in T20 World Cup 2024.

At Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas on Thursday, Babar scored 44 runs off 43 balls against USA with the help of three fours and two sixes. With this knock, Babar’s total runs in T20 matches reached 4067, while Kohli slipped to the second spot with 4038 runs in 118 matches.

Kohli will have ample chance to reclaim the top spot while Babar too will have a chance to retain his position when India face Pakistan in their next T20 World Cup game in New York on June 9.
