Passengers Escape Fortuitously As OSRTC Bus Veers Off Road

Gajapati: A Bhubaneswar-bound state government bus reportedly veered off the road and got stuck on the side of the road Late last night in the Gajapati district.

Around 40 passengers were aboard the bus when the accident took place, however, astoundingly, all of the passengers were unhurt and sound, reports say.

According to reports, the mishap occurred at around 2 AM close to Nalaghat within the limits of the Adava police station in the district.

The OSRTC bus left Motu in the Malkangiri district for Bhubaneswar while carrying about 50 passengers. Near Nalaghat, the driver lost control of the wheels, causing the bus to slip off the road and become stranded on the trees by the side of the road.

However, some media reports also suggest that the driver was overburdened with tiredness and hence, lost control of the wheels.

Adava Police, upon receiving information about the mishap, arrived at the scene and started looking into the matter.
