PM, HM & Other Ministers Pay Homage to Freedom Fighters Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev & Rajguru on Shaheed Diwas

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has bowed to the great freedom fighters  Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru today on the occasion of Shaheed Diwas.

In a tweet, PM Modi said, “India will always remember the sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. These are greats who made an unparalleled contribution to our freedom struggle.”

Home Minister Amit Shah also paid homage to freedom fighters on the occasion of Saheed Diwas.

He tweeted, “Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, by irrigating the freedom movement with their thoughts and lives, communicated the spirit of revolution, which was rarely seen in history. His bravery and patriotism will remain an inspiration for ages. Today, on Martyr’s Day, I bow to them along with crores of Indians.”

Defence minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to the freedom fighters, saying “I respectfully bow down and salute the immortal sons of Mother India, Sardar Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their ‘Sacrifice Day’. The young generation of India will always continue to draw inspiration from these great revolutionaries who sacrificed their lives laughingly for the freedom of the country.”

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also paid tribute to the immortal freedom fighters. He tweeted, “Grateful salutations to the immortal sons of Mother Bharati, martyrs Shiromani Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, on Martyr’s Day, who sacrificed everything for the freedom of the nation with unparalleled sacrifice. Your sacrifice for the integrity of the country will always be eternal. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

‘Shaheed Diwas’ is commemorated every year on March 23 to remember the sacrifice made by the revolutionary leaders Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar who were hanged at the Lahore Central Jail in Lahore in 1931 today.
