PM Modi Praises Beauty of Jammu & Kashmir for Tulip Season

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the beauty of Jammu and Kashmir for its Tulip Season.

In reply to the tweets by the Srinagar District Administration about the blooming of the Tulip garden located in the foothills of Zabarwan Range, adjacent to Dal Lake in Srinagar, the Prime Minister said Jammu and Kashmir are beautiful. He said it is even more pleasing during the Tulip season.

Earlier, nearly 1.35 lakh tourists visited Asia’s largest Tulip garden in Srinagar within ten days of opening.

Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden has above 16 lakh tulip bulbs of different hues and 68 varieties in bloom in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.

“About 1.35 lakh visitors have already visited our garden. The maximum proportion, about 70 percent, is from outside the Union territory. They are more enthusiastic,” said Tulip garden In-charge Inam-ul-Rehman.

“This year, four new varieties of tulips have been added, bringing the total varieties to 68. The garden, which presents a riot of colors, is themed around rainbow colors as seen under the foothills of Zabarwan,” he added.

“We have installed ornamental lights for the evening. Many tourists stay in the garden till late evening,” he stated.

The tulip garden is attracting more and more tourists to Srinagar.
