PM Modi Resigns Along With Council of Ministers, To take Oath as New PM on June 8

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday met President Droupadi Murmu and tendered his resignation along with the Council of Ministers.

“The President has accepted the resignation and requested Shri Narendra Modi and the Council of Ministers to continue till the new government assumes office,” a press communique said.

Modi is likely to be sworn in as the Prime Minister for a third consecutive term on June 8 evening, reported India Today quoting sources.

The NDA has won 292 seats. Modi will be the second leader to retain the post of the PM for a third term after former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.
