Police Give Liquor as Wage to Labourer in ‘Dry Bihar’!

Patna: A labourer was allegedly given two bottles of liquor as his wage by police personnel in Bihar, where there is a complete ban on sell and consumption of liquor. A video related to the incident has gone viral on social media.

In this video, a labourer shows liquor bottles hidden with a towel. When asked, from where he got the bottles, he replies that personnel of Vaishali’s Mahua police station have given him the liquor as a wage.

According to media reports, this incident occurred on January 21.

According to the claims of the labourer in the viral video, he was among some labourers deployed by the police to destroy seized liquor bottles. After they finished destroying the bottles, the police personnel gave him two bottles as a wage.

But speaking to media, Prabhat Ranjan Saksena, the SHO at Mahua police station said, they have not destroyed seized liquor bottles for the last 15 days. As per the norms liquor bottles are destroyed in presence of duty magistrate and police officials, and the entire action is recorded.

According to him the video making rounds is an old one. The SHo suspected that some persons have intentionally made a video to conspire against the district administration.
