Prime Accused of Fake Medicine Case Identified; Drugs Worth ₹ 10 Lakh Seized

Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force team has identified the prime accused in the spurious O2 tablets case.

The accused was identified as Manish Kumar of Muzaffarpur.

The team with the assistance of the Drugs Control Officials of Muzaffarpur seized the suspected fake drugs of cost of around ₹ 10 lakh stocked unauthorizedly in the accused’s residence.

After finding the Bhopal link in the fake O2 tablets in Cuttack, the Health & Family Welfare Department the STF (DES) team comprising of Assistant Drugs Controller, Cuttack Circle-I Dharmadev Puhan, Tushar Ranjan Panigrahi, Assistant Drugs Controller, Cuttack Circle-II, Haripriya Mallick, Drugs Inspector Cuttack-II Range carried out an investigation at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and Muzaffarpur.

Presently the accused is absconding. Further investigation is underway.
