Puri Gajapati Visits Gundicha Mandir to Inspect Cracks

Puri: Repair work of cracks in the Shree Gundicha temple of Puri is expected to be completed by March next year, said Gajapati Maharaja of Puri Dibyasingha Deb on Tuesday morning.

He visited the Gundicha Mandir along with senior officials of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and Archeological Survey of India to inspect the progress of the repair work.

Cracks have developed in three beams and a column of the Shree Gundicha Temple, which would be repaired under the supervision of the ASI.

The Puri Gajapati also held discussions with officials about the details of the plans for the repair of the cracks in the Shree Gundicha Mandir.

Repairs of the cracks will be done by February or March next year, the Gajapati Maharaja told reporters after the review meeting.

Renovation work will also be taken up at Shree Gundicha temple. Lotus India has been entrusted with the renovation work, the Gajapati informed.
